Bedding is not only an aesthetic component of the bedroom. The health of all family members depends on how you take care of him. However, care is not only washing, but also respect for the fabric during use. After all, the quality of sleep is affected by the presence of dust mites and an unpleasant odor. Do you want to sleep and look beautiful? We tell you how to do it.
A mattress pad is not an extra accessory, but a very useful thing. It protects the mattress from stains that can accidentally get from the sheets. As you know, it is much more difficult to clean it afterwards than textiles, which are easy to wash. In addition, the mattress pad will protect linen from the penetration of dust mites, and you from contact with these unpleasant microorganisms.
There is an opinion that bed linen cannot be washed often: supposedly washing takes away several months of life from textiles at once and the fabric becomes unusable faster. However, cleanliness is very important, especially when it comes to pillowcases. The fact is that pillows are in contact with the face and can provoke the appearance of acne if there is dirt, epithelium particles, and cosmetics on the textiles. Therefore, pillowcases need to be washed more often than sheets and duvet covers. To make it easier to change them, you can choose a universal shade for bedding, such as white, and buy many individual pillowcases.
Making the bed after waking up to make the bedroom look tidy is a habit that has been instilled in us since childhood. But in fact, it is imperative to let the bedding air out before covering it with a bedspread. Excess moisture accumulated overnight can become a breeding ground for mites and fungus.
Bed linen should be placed freely in the drum of the machine. Do not push another pillowcase with force: such a wash will not benefit either the machine or the fabric. The laundry will not wash properly and will remain dirty. Also, during the rinsing process, all the detergent will not be washed out, and in the future, if it comes into contact with the skin, it can cause allergies.
Boiling is capable of destroying the fibers of the fabric, it is not worth treating it like this with each wash — the kit will quickly become unusable. However, choosing modes with a minimum temperature is also inefficient. For washing, it is better to use a mode with a temperature of 60 ° C and a maximum number of revolutions. It will help get rid of not only pollution, but also harmful microorganisms.
Even if you love your cat or dog very much, you should not let your pet into the bed you sleep in. It’s not just a matter of hygiene. Wool and dead skin cells get stuck in bedding and serve as an excellent breeding ground for dust mites.
If you don’t like to make your bed, make a rule: don’t put anything you bring in from the street on it. Bags, packages, things from the store — all this must first be wiped. Dust particles get on the bed and make the bedding dirtier. Together with it, bacteria, helminth eggs, and other harmful microorganisms can get on the fabric.
To keep bedding fresh, store it on well-ventilated shelves. Best of all, air exchange occurs in wicker baskets; they can even be placed on open shelves. Another option is to store textiles in trunks that have special ventilation holes.
