one Jam

Jars of canned jam usually occupy an impressive part of the shelves in the refrigerator. If you have accumulated a whole “battery” of spins, and there is almost no room for other food, feel free to empty the shelves. Closed jam can be stored in a dark place at room temperature. If the jar is open, it should be put in the refrigerator and kept there for no more than two months, and jam with seeds — no more than two to three weeks.

2 Honey

Honey does not need a refrigerator either. It is stored away from moisture in a cool dark place. It is important that the jar or other container is tightly closed. According to GOST, honey is stored for about two years. Moreover, if it is stored in the refrigerator, it crystallizes much faster. To keep honey longer liquid, do not put it in the cold.

3 Basil

There are some types of greens that are pointless and, moreover, harmful to put in the refrigerator. For example, basil. Fresh herbs are best stored at room temperature. It wilts faster in the refrigerator.

four Fruit

Many fruits keep well when kept warm. Moreover, vitamins contained, for example, in grapes, peaches or melons, lose their beneficial properties in the refrigerator. Some fruits there can become more sour and unpleasant in taste. Apples and pears are also well stored without a refrigerator.

5 Carrot

It is worth making a reservation right away: you can keep carrots in the refrigerator, but only if long-term storage is expected and you do not have a cellar. If you plan to use root vegetables in the near future, you should not occupy the shelves in the refrigerator with them. Carrots can be stored for several days in a paper bag in a place protected from the sun. The ideal place to place this vegetable is a box of sawdust or sand in the cellar at a temperature of 0-2 degrees.

6 Salted cucumbers

In the refrigerator, canned cucumbers are not stored longer than usual, so it makes no sense to occupy the shelf with large jars. If you like a cool pickle or want the cucumbers themselves to be cold to the table, you can leave them in the refrigerator. In other cases, put the jars in a dark, cool place. It is better to put an open container with cucumbers in the refrigerator, but in extreme cases you can place it on an unheated balcony. In heat, the shelf life of open cucumbers will be shorter.

7 Eggs

If you pay attention, in stores, eggs are often stored without refrigeration on ordinary shelves. If you use them for food within the expiration date specified by the manufacturer, then you can place them warm. This applies only to those eggs that are processed and labeled at the factory; in the case of farm products, the issue of expiration dates is decided individually. Usually, without a refrigerator, eggs are stored for 14 to 25 days.

However, they can be stored in the cold much longer: up to 3 months. It is important to place the eggs with the sharp end down on the refrigerator shelf, and not in the door. Due to frequent opening, it is warmer than the chamber and the shelf life is reduced.

eight Hard sausages

Hard dried sausages were originally invented in order to store meat without cold for as long as possible. Therefore, they do not need to be refrigerated. It is necessary to clean the product from polyethylene, wrap it with parchment and put it in a cloth or in a canvas bag. You can put it in a cool dark place, for example, in a closet on the balcony or in the cellar. Or hang a stick of sausage in a draft, in this form it will be fresh for about a week. More information about storage conditions should be found on the label of a particular sausage variety.

9 Soy sauce

Soy sauce is one of the foods that does not spoil outside the refrigerator. If you use it before the expiration date, no matter where the bottle is placed, the contents will not go sour. Therefore, feel free to pull the sauce out of the refrigerator and move it to the shelf of the kitchen cabinet.
